FOOD REBORN

COMPLETED

FOOD REBORN is a research-action project coordinated by the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society at the University of Turin, in collaboration with the social enterprise WeCo and key stakeholders within Turin’s surplus food recovery ecosystem. The project aims to pilot an innovative food welfare model where recovered surplus food is channeled through a network of social restaurants, providing recipient families with dignified, non-stigmatizing, and economically sustainable dining experiences. Through CommonsHood, the project is designing a dedicated “social token” to enable an economically and socially viable surplus food redistribution network.
